ટૂંકો જવાબ
Body, border અને pallu ને અલગ layers પર રાખો, Select > Color Range થી border નો colour select કરો, અને border layer પર clip કરેલી Hue/Saturation adjustment layer થી એને બદલો. Zari બચાવવા gold ને selection ની બહાર રાખો કે adjustment ને એક colour range સુધી રાખો, પછી નવું combination strike-off પર check કરો.
મુખ્ય વાતો
- કોઈ પણ colour બદલતા પહેલાં body, border અને pallu ને અલગ અલગ layers પર કાપો.
- Mask વાળી adjustment layers વાપરો, જેથી original colours file માં બચેલા રહે.
- Gold અને zari ની shading ને selection ની બહાર રાખો, કે Hue/Saturation ને એક colour range સુધી રાખો.
- દરેક નવા border ને greyscale માં check કરો, જેથી એ body થી અલગ દેખાય.
- Screen printing માં નવો border colour એટલે નવો screen હોઈ શકે, પહેલાં colours ગણો.
Buyer ને saree ગમે છે, પણ એ કહે છે "body same રાખો, border change કરો." Saree design માં border બદલવો એ રોજનું revision છે, કારણ કે border અને pallu થી occasion નક્કી થાય છે અને body થી base look.
File ભાગમાં set હોય તો કામ સહેલું છે. અઘરો ભાગ છે zari ને એવી જ રાખવી અને એવો border colour પસંદ કરવો જે body પર શોભે.
File ને ભાગમાં set કરો
Saree આશરે 5 થી 6 metre લાંબી અને 1.1 થી 1.2 metre પહોળી હોય છે (HPRT). મોટા ભાગની saree print files માં ત્રણ zone હોય છે: body, એક કે બંને કિનારે લાંબો border, અને એક છેડે pallu.
કશું પણ બદલતા પહેલાં દરેક zone ને એની પોતાની layer આપો:
- File ની એક copy save કરો. એકમાત્ર master ને ક્યારેય recolour ન કરો.
- Rectangular Marquee tool થી border ની strip આખી લંબાઈમાં select કરો. Border સામાન્ય રીતે સીધો પટ્ટો હોય છે, એટલે rectangle બરાબર બેસે છે.
- Ctrl+J દબાવી strip ને નવી layer પર copy કરો. નામ રાખો "Border".
- Pallu માટે પણ આ જ કરો, પછી body માટે. દરેક layer નું નામ રાખો.
- Border બંને કિનારે હોય, તો copy કરતા પહેલાં બંને strips સાથે select કરો (Shift દબાવીને).
ટિપ: તમારી પાસે ફક્ત flat JPG હોય, તો પહેલાં original designer પાસે layered PSD માંગો. અલગ layers પર બનેલા zones ઝડપથી અને ચોખ્ખા recolour થાય છે.
Color Range થી recolour
Border નો colour select કરો
Border layer પર click કરો, પછી Select > Color Range પસંદ કરો. "Sampled Colors" રહેવા દો અને eyedropper થી border ના ground colour પર click કરો (Adobe Help).
Fuzziness slider ત્યાં સુધી ખસેડો જ્યાં સુધી preview માં આખું ground white ન થાય અને motifs અને zari black રહે. છૂટી ગયેલો shade ઉમેરવા plus વાળું eyedropper, અને કાઢવા minus વાળું વાપરો.
Hue/Saturation થી બદલો
Selection active રાખીને Hue/Saturation adjustment layer ઉમેરો. Photoshop selection ને એ layer નો mask બનાવી દે છે, એટલે ફક્ત selected ભાગ બદલાય છે.
Adjustment layer પર right-click કરી Create Clipping Mask પસંદ કરો, જેથી અસર ફક્ત Border layer પર થાય. હવે colour બદલવા Hue, colour તેજ કે હળવો કરવા Saturation, અને Lightness ધ્યાનથી ખસેડો.
નોંધ: Lightness colours ને grey કે white તરફ ધકેલે છે અને border ધોવાયેલો લાગી શકે. Light થી dark માં મોટો ફેરફાર કરવો હોય તો એ જ mask સાથે Curves layer ઉમેરો અને ત્યાં dark કરો.
દરેક option પોતાની layer પર
દરેક option માટે એક adjustment layer બનાવો અને નામ આપો: "Border bottle green", "Border mustard". સરખાવવા માટે એને on-off કરો. Original colours નીચે બચેલા રહે છે, એટલે ગમે ત્યારે પાછા જઈ શકાય.
Zari ને બચાવો
Printed saree ની file માં zari ધાતુ નથી. એ yellow, brown, cream અને white pixels નો set છે જે gold જેવો દેખાય છે. જે adjustment આ pixels ને અડે, તમારું gold લીલું, pink કે grey થઈ જાય છે.
એને બચાવવાના બે રસ્તા છે:
- Hue/Saturation માં Master લખેલું drop-down ખોલો અને ફક્ત border ના colour ની range પસંદ કરો, જેમ કે Reds કે Greens. Yellows, જેમાં gold નો મોટો ભાગ છે, એવા જ રહે છે.
- Adjustment layer ના mask પર zari motifs ઉપર black paint કરો. Black એ જગ્યાએ ફેરફાર છુપાવી દે છે.
ધ્યાન રાખો: દરેક ફેરફાર પછી zari ને 100% zoom પર જુઓ. Gold motifs ની આસપાસ પાતળી લીલી edge screen પર સહેલાઈથી છૂટી જાય અને કપડા પર ચોખ્ખી દેખાય.
કપડા પર normal digital print zari ને gold રંગની shading જેવી બતાવે છે, સાચી ચમક નથી આવતી. Printed sarees પર metallic effect સામાન્ય રીતે foil printing કે metallic ink થી આવે છે (MySilkLove), અને HPRT કહે છે કે અમુક advanced digital machines જ metallic ink support કરે છે. Buyer ને સાચી ચમક જોઈએ, તો design કરતા પહેલાં print house ને પૂછી લો કે એ શું કરી શકે છે.
Contrast combinations જે ચાલે છે
વણેલી silk sarees printed design માટે તૈયાર reference છે. Kanjivaram વણકરો વર્ષોથી body સાથે contrast border જોડતા આવ્યા છે, અને એમાંની ઘણી જોડીઓ print માં પણ સારી લાગે છે.

Ganga Jamuna border માં બે contrast colours હોય છે, saree ના દરેક કિનારે એક (Hayagrivas). Print file માં એનો અર્થ છે બે border layers અને બે અલગ adjustments.
Contrast ના સહેલા નિયમ
- Hue સાથે lightness પણ બદલો. સરખી lightness વાળી mid-red body અને mid-green border દૂરથી ડહોળા લાગે છે.
- મોટે ભાગે pallu ને border ના colour પર જ રાખો. Pallu માં ત્રીજો colour ત્યારે જ શોભે જ્યારે body અને border શાંત હોય.
- Body ના motif colours ને border ના accents માં રાખો, જેથી બંને ભાગ એક જ saree લાગે.
- Greyscale માં check કરો. ઉપર Black & White adjustment layer ઉમેરો અને on-off કરો. Border અને body એક જ grey માં ભળી જાય, તો contrast નબળો છે.
ઉદાહરણ: Body: gold butta વાળો rani pink. Option A: એ જ gold સાથે bottle green border અને pallu. Option B: self-toned maroon border. Option C: પાતળી rani pink edge વાળો navy border. એક body માંથી buyer માટે ત્રણ ચોખ્ખી choices.
ઝડપથી ઘણા options જુઓ
હાથથી છ border options બનાવવામાં સમય જાય છે, ખાસ કરીને એ નક્કી કરવામાં કે કયા colours body પર શોભશે. Color Variation upload કરેલી design ના ઘણા colorway એક click માં બનાવી આપે છે અને motif ને જેવું દોરેલું છે એવું રાખે છે.
આખા palette જોવા આખી saree upload કરો, કે border અને pallu નો crop upload કરીને ઘણા border colour ideas બાજુ બાજુમાં જુઓ. ગમતા colours પસંદ કરો, પછી ઉપરની રીતથી Photoshop માં border layer પર લગાવો, જેથી body ન બદલાય.
Buyer ને options મોકલો
- દરેક option ને એક જ crop માં export કરો: એવો ભાગ જેમાં body, border અને pallu ની શરૂઆત દેખાય.
- છ options ને એક image પર બે rows ના grid માં મૂકો, દરેક પર label: "D-2417 A", "D-2417 B" વગેરે.
- Choice માટે grid WhatsApp પર મોકલો, અને printer માટે full-size files તૈયાર રાખો.
Print પહેલાં
- Colours ગણો. Screen printing માં દરેક colour નો એક screen લાગે, એટલે એવો border colour જે design માં બીજે ક્યાંય નથી, એક screen વધારી શકે.
- જ્યાં border pallu ને મળે એ corner ને 100% zoom પર જુઓ, ક્યાંય જૂનો colour તો નથી રહી ગયો.
- File નું original pixel size અને DPI એ જ રાખો. Recolour કરતી વખતે resize ન કરો. જુઓ saree design file size.
- Printer માટે TIFF માં save કરો, WhatsApp JPG નહીં.
- નવો border strike-off પર approve કરો. Screen અને કપડાના colours અલગ હોય છે, જેમ print નો colour screen થી અલગ કેમ આવે માં સમજાવ્યું છે.

જે saree file પર સૌથી વધારે border ની માંગ આવે છે, એને આજે જ body, border અને pallu layers માં વહેંચો. પછી border નો crop Color Variation પર upload કરો, સૌથી સારા colours પસંદ કરો અને buyer માટે છ options નો grid બનાવો.

Body બદલ્યા વગર border નો colour બદલી શકાય?
હા, જો border પોતાની અલગ layer કે પોતાના mask માં હોય. Rectangle થી border ની strip select કરો, નવી layer પર copy કરો, પછી colour adjustment ને એ જ layer પર clip કરો, જેથી બહાર કશું ન બદલાય.
Border બદલતી વખતે gold zari લીલી કે pink કેમ થઈ જાય છે?
Adjustment એ yellow અને brown pixels સુધી પહોંચે છે જેનાથી gold નો look બને છે. Hue/Saturation માં ફક્ત border ના colour ની range પસંદ કરો, કે adjustment mask પર zari ઉપર black paint કરો.
Red saree body સાથે કયો border colour જાય?
Bottle green, emerald, mustard, navy અને coffee brown red માટે જૂના અજમાવેલા contrast border છે, સામાન્ય રીતે gold zari સાથે. Self-toned red કે maroon border એક જ colour વાળો ભરાવદાર look આપે છે.
Printed saree માં સાચી metallic zari આવી શકે?
Normal digital print માં zari gold રંગની shading જેવી દેખાય છે, સાચી ચમક નથી આવતી. Metallic look માટે metallic ink કે foil printing જોઈએ, જે અમુક જ print house અને machines કરે છે, એટલે buyer ને વચન આપતા પહેલાં પૂછી લો.
